Liz Weiss has been there and done it. A registered dietitian nutritionist and mother of 2 boys, Liz realized when her boys were young that teaching them to eat healthy was going to be a challenge. So, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. Along the way, she realized that others could use the knowledge from her experience. Liz developed several resources, one of which is her website, Liz’s Healthy Table, where she provides tools to help other families. She wants parents and kids to understand that eating healthy is not as difficult as it may seem and, with the resources she provides, it can be a great habit to start during the COVID-19 stay-at-home advisory.
Liz’s Healthy Table is running a 26-day Color, Cook, Learn Challenge of food-themed coloring pages, healthy and easy recipes, tips for making meals with the kids, and a chance to win one of three $50 Amazon gift cards! She states, “The goals of the challenge are to play together, learn together, eat healthy meals together, and build fond memories together.” Through the site, kids can get creative with their coloring pages and send a photo to Liz for a chance to win one of the Amazon gift cards.
Her site has other coloring cookbooks for purchase such as Smoothie Bowls and Wholesome Family Dinners. The coloring e-books contain recipes and kid-friendly coloring pages available for download.
