One word to describe yourself: Busy! I’m a new mom with a young baby, still trying to juggle work and life.

What quality do you admire the most? Passion. I really admire those who love and are excited about a project, opportunity, etc., and who fight for it.

If you could do any job, what would you choose? Quite honestly, I would choose to be retired! But I would still want to write here and there.

What did you want to be when you grew up? A writer, so yay!

What’s your favorite food? That’s a tough question to ask a food writer! It depends on the day. Today, I could go for some perfect fried chicken.

Dream vacation? Definitely Italy.

Favorite place to take Addy? We’ll find out once Addy is old enough!

If you had a super power, what would it be? Since I’m breastfeeding, I’d really love the power to move objects at will. So while I’m feeding the baby, I could also be cooking dinner, writing a story or reading a book. Or just getting the remote (since I usually leave it across the room from me!).

Life lesson: Don’t ever, ever take things for granted.

What would surprise people about you? I’m not as quiet as they might think.

Favorite subject in school? Latin.

Best thing about being a mom? Those sweet baby smiles…I can’t get enough of her happiness.

Hardest part about being a mom? The lack of sleep! It’s really, really hard.

Signature dish: My Christmas gumbo. I’ve made it every holiday for the past 15 years.

What was your first job? I was a waitress at a restaurant (Chinese, of course).

Favorite indulgence: Sinking into a hot bath with a great book and candles and absolutely no responsibilities..

Song playing in your head: Where I Belong, Building 429.

Favorite TV show: Legends of Tomorrow.

Greatest hope: What the life after this will be like.

Is inspired by: My husband, Sean. He gives so much of himself and isn’t often appreciated, even by me.
