National Coffee Day is Tuesday, September 29th! According to history, the first coffee drinkers were Sufi monks near Mokha, Yemen, in the 15th Century. The coffee seeds spread to the Middle East in 1670, and then later to Europe, Indonesia and the Americas. Brazil produces more coffee than any other country and the coffee plant is grown in more than 50 countries worldwide. Coffee is the most popular beverage in the world, with more than 400 billion cups consumed annually. About 150 million Americans drink the beverage daily and the average price for a cup of joe is $2.38. (www.e-importz.com/coffee-statistics.php)
