The sweet taste of chocolate is temporary—the sweetness of an act of kindness lasts forever. This Valentine’s Day, Snoopy and Charlie Brown suggest a new way to show the people in your life how much you care, in a new original video called Charlie Brown’s Caring Tree. Starting February 9, the video and accompanying activity for 4- to 8-year-olds are available for free on, the beloved kids’ media and technology company.

Charlie Brown’s Caring Tree is the second video and activity to be released as part of the Take Care With Peanuts initiative, a global multi-year enterprise encouraging everyone to “take care” of themselves, each other, and the earth. The initiative draws on themes of wellness, community, and environmental engagement found throughout Charles Schulz’s revered comic strip, and includes philanthropic outreach, social messaging, and educational activities. Children and communities are at the heart of each activation.

In the video, Charlie Brown creates a Caring Tree on which anyone can hang a heart after performing an act of kindness for someone. No surprise, Snoopy becomes a canine superhero, as he shelters Woodstock and friends from the rain, provides them with plenty of delicious bird food, and offers Charlie Brown a much-needed hug.

After watching the short video, families and classrooms are encouraged to use the accompanying activity kit, available on the Good Energy for Grownups page of from February 9 -15, to create their own Caring Tree and to do nice things for others “to show how kindness grows.” The activity includes a template for a Caring Tree craft activity, or families are welcome to design their own—or decorate a real tree with caring hearts! (Activity sheets included!)

Throughout 2021, new Take Care videos will be released monthly with additional activities; all can be found on the GoNoodle website and app.
