Southerners speak praline. Proper ways to translate the holidays in the South from Mobile, AL to New Orleans are through festive food and drink. Here is a recipe from Melitta that will warm the olfactory senses and soothe the palate for hope, peace and happiness in the holiday season and New Year.

Buttered Praline Coffee
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1 1/2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 tablespoons praline syrup

Directions:
Brew a 5-ounce cup of Melitta classic coffee. Combine the coffee, cream, brown sugar and the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Simmer until the sugar is dissolved, stirring often. Add the praline syrup, stir to blend, and serve warm.
