When Golden Harvest Food Bank was forced to close The Master’s Table Soup Kitchen program due to a regular volunteer and one employee testing positive for Covid-19, Firehouse Subs Operator Lee Bowers offered to help.

Thanks to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, Bowers provided Golden Harvest Food Bank with 200 boxed meals to feed their clients on July 26, 2020.

“I am proud to help a vital non-profit like Golden Harvest Food Bank which supports and feeds people who struggle in downtown Augusta,” said Bowers. “Their soup kitchen serves a hot lunch to more than 325 community members every day, 365 days per year and when I heard it was closed for two weeks, I was honored to help fill the gap.”

Golden Harvest Food Bank, a non-profit organization that provides quality food and grocery products to those in need in 25 counties across Georgia and S.C., shared their gratitude for the donation on its Facebook page HERE.

Since March 18, Firehouse Subs restaurants, community partners and the Foundation have donated nearly 90,000 meals across the country to healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as individuals and families in need and seniors who are unable to leave their homes.
