Quick Hello

It’s always fun to see Kennedy during the day. She was taking the quick tour around downtown today saying hello to all of her new friends. My office was on the list of stops, so I took a photo to share. Her hat is a little big but it is cold out there today.

OK, maybe not...

It seems the new swing is working sometimes but, it still isn't the full relief we were looking for. I guess we will have to wait another 2 months when her colic should be over.

We found it

We have found the one thing Kennedy loves and keeps her calm and quiet, the papasan cradle swing. We discovered it last weekend at our friend’s house in Atlanta. Yesterday we broke down and bought one for $130. Well worth the sanity it brings. Before yesterday Kennedy would cry most of the day and evening unless she was bounced on the exercise ball. Now she is sleeping in the swing and even entertained in the swing. I guess Meg will now be able to take showers every day…

On the town

We took advantage of having one child at home last night and went on our first date night. Grandma and Grandpa came over and rocked Kennedy while we were gone.

Traveling

Saturday was Kennedy’s first long drive. We left Augusta at 6am and didn’t get home until 8pm that night. We traveled to Atlanta for the boys to be with their dad for the holiday break. Since we were up there we got to meet up with some of our friends and visit for a few hours. Kennedy didn’t miss a beat, everyone held her without too much crying and she slept the whole time we were on the road. We also found a different baby swing that she liked at a friends house. Now the search is on for the exact one.

Colic

Who knew that one small word “colic” could have such an impact?

He sees you when your sleeping...

The technology for parents is amazing. We have this cool video monitor which is sitting right next to me as I am typing. I can watch in color,  listen to every sound and even hook it up to the TV to watch the video feed. What more could I ask for, well how about the motion detector diaper pail. Don't laugh, its cool. With the wave of my hand it opens and 5 seconds later it closes.

Even with all the fuzzy logic, the only thing that calms the screaming girl is interaction with Mom and Dad.

Finally some sleep...

Last night was Kennedy’s first night with 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

YEAH!!!
