Sick Child, Helpful Hubby and Cooking Class


Today is a busy day-like most, but not.
 
My daughter is home sick but I’ve got to work downtown to get the March
issue heading in the right direction. I was able to work from home
yesterday, but today I not only had to be in the office, but I also am
teaching a cooking class in Aiken tonight.
 
So today is a first-in the history of our family. My husband had to take
half a day off to stay with a sick child. My flexible work schedule and
work-from-home jobs (up until I started editing Family) made it so that in

 Ok - so my life doesn't seem that different from a lot of moms I know.  We all juggle roles, wear hats, balance life, multi-task, what every metaphor you want to use, we all do it.  In this day and age we move, move, move.  Well when things get overwelming I just remember what my mom said to me a few years ago.  She said "Gracie.  Only do three things a day.  Once three are done, you can tell yourself I've accomplished something."  So here are the three things I did today (actually I did like 20 things, but who's counting?)

I’ve always considered myself a pretty run-of-the-mill person, so blogging about my daily life seemed to be one of the least interesting things I could do. I imagined a reader taking a big stretch and then letting out a huge yawn…

 

Finally some sleep...


Last night was Kennedy’s first night with 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
