I've never been fond of having my picture taken, especially since gaining some weight over the past couple of years. Working in radio, though, it's hard to escape the flash of a camera. I'm always flattered when someone wants their picture taken with me. I just don't always like the finished product.
Even though he's only twelve-weeks old, I believe Evan feels my pain. Being the cute little baby that he is, everyone wants to take his picture. I tell him often that he'll never escape the paparazzi, a group that is headed up by his mother with her Canon Rebel XT and includes his grandmothers, aunts and cousins. The poor child always seems to have a flash in his face.
Our normally photogenic son seems to have had enough with the cameras. We took him to have his picture made in the Easter outfit that Aunt Linda gave him. Unfortunately, he was not much for cooperation that day. Evan has discovered his tongue quite well and rather than give his usual million-dollar smile, he flashed his tongue. He looked like a little frog sticking that tongue out and then quickly pulling it back. Sometimes, he would just let it hang out like a panting dog.
Needless to say, we didn't have a hard time picking out the good shots, because there were very few of them. I think little Evan is just tired of all the cameras. Maybe he'll turn out to be like his dad after all. But I learned a great lesson from him...when they want to give you the flash, give 'em the tongue!
