Baby In the Spotlight

We've discovered that Evan loves a crowd. I took him on stage with me at a concert the station hosted last week, and he loved it. He didn't cry. There wasn't even a whimper from him. He was leaning forward, checking out the audience while they were checking out him.

On Mother's Day, we dedicated him at church, and he felt right at home in the spotlight. With 1200 people looking at him, he was looking right back at them, soaking in every moment. Everyone was amazed at his alertness, for just being four months old. My Evan is just getting an early start on practicing his stage presence. This radio dad will be showing him off as much as possible.

He looked cute in his white outfit that Aunt Linda bought just for the dedication ceremony. We were so afraid that it wouldn't stay white by the time we left church. Sure enough, after the dedication we took him to the nursery, and the floodgates opened. When we picked him up after the service, he was wearing a different outfit. Based on the smell when we walked in the door, Evan had done some damage. The soiled, white outfit said it all. Fortunately, it recovered in the washing machine.

Hats off to the brave nursery workers who dealt with his little, make that big, "situation." I'm glad it wasn't me! :)
