I grew up in the CSRA, but I still have to ask directions once in a while. It never ceases to amaze me when, almost every time, the direction giver’s first words are, “Go to Pumpkin Center . . .”
Pumpkin Center is at the epicenter of the earth. All routes anchor there. If I can get to Pumpkin Center, I can get anywhere in the world. Think of all the possibilities! We live with an international crossroads in our backyard!
I feel so cosmopolitan.

Pumpkin Center the center of the world?
Wow! It's just like an episode of the Twilight Zone! I wonder what happens when you go inside.
It's true...
Seeing as I graduated from Harlem High School, I drove past the Pumpkin Center almost everyday for 4 years and it's true. The four-way stop at Pumpkin Center can lead you to Harlem, Grovetown, I-20, the lake, and Thomson. Oh yeah, when you go inside, you come out smelling like the place. Don't believe me... try it yourself.
