Happy Helen

Helen Bissell, 49, is one busy mother of three. Her active 17-year-old son and her job as the marketing manager for Chick-Fil-A at Augusta Mall, along with multiple volunteer activities, keep her on the go. Bissell also speaks to groups about the Holocost, as her father was a Holocost survivor.
She was happy to take a little break from her busyness with a Mommy Makeover from Dillard’s at Augusta Mall. This time Dillard’s had something special in mind for the Mommy Makeover: A complete Erno Laszlo facial in their spa room with Beverly Allen, market coordinator for Erno Laszlo.
Erno Laszlo is new to Dillard’s cosmetic department and the skin care regimen is based on a daily ritual that is performed twice a day. Depending on the skin type, the ritual may include the application of Active pHelityl Oil and then washing the face with a bar soap. You fill a sink basin half full of hot water, dip the bar in the water and rub the bar directly on your face as an exfoliant. Then the soap is rubbed into the skin with the fingertips and finally a splashing technique (20 splashes from the basin and then 10 splashes with running water) is performed.
Toner is the next step, followed by appropriate treatments and then moisturizer. Bissell’s facial included special treatments: C-Peel Two-Phase Exfoliator, a Hydrotherapy Mask, Timeless Skin serum, Tranfuse Eye serum and LASZLO BLUE Firmarine SPF 30.
After all of that pampering, Bissell headed to the Dillard’s salon where Becky Graham used both highlights and low lights to add lots of dimension to Bissell’s hair color. She washed Bissell’s hair using Blue Malva Shampoo and Conditioner then applied Volumizing Tonic and Brilliant Damage Control before blow drying her hair. She used a curling iron to add some fun curl.
During her wardrobing session, Kimmie Jones, sales manager for contemporary better sportswear, and Dealynn Fryer, women’s apparel manager, used two techniques to help Bissell know what colors and styles are best for her. First, they used a vein test to determine if she was “cool” or “warm.” If the veins in your arm are blue, you should wear cool tones, if they are more green, then warm tones will look best.

Bissell’s last stop was with cosmetics department manager Kristina Rester who used Lancome cosmetics to complete her makeover. “After her facial, her skin was so radiant I decided to go with a light foundation—Teint Miracle—in Bisque 6. Rester gave Bissell’s cheeks a healthy glow with Shimmer Pink Pool blush and did a dramatic eye with an eye-brightening five-shadow-and-liner compact in Teal Fury. Raspberry lip liner, My Stylista lipstick and a hint of La Laque Fever lip gloss in Optical Rose completed her look.
